We are seeking a hands-on, innovative, and ambitious 5G Security Architect/Expert to drive cutting-edge secure communications technology across our next-generation satcom products. Working directly with our CTO and engineering teams, this role entails a hybrid of secure architecture design and hands-on software development to pioneer resilient, state-of-the-art defenses and keep our 5G product innovations running at the forefront of technology.
Required skills
- Education: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or Cybersecurity, or equivalent through experience.
- Track record in 3GPP dataplane and control plane design work. Preferably via 5G technology firms (Nokia, Ericsson, Accelleran,…).
- Networking: Proficiency in networking and transport layer protocols. Including the 3GPP/5G networking stack.
- Advanced Networking Techniques: Proficiency in SR-IOV (Single Root I/O Virtualization), Zero-copy memory management, and hugepage-backed buffers.
- eSIM/SIM & Identity: Expertise in Subscriber Identity Protection (SUPI/SUCI), Authentication and Key Agreement (5G AKA), and Secure Element/eSIM lifecycle management.
- 3GPP Security Specifications: Knowledge of security architecture and procedures.
- Encryption & Integrity: Proficiency in 5G encryption algorithms and integrity protection for both control and user planes.
- NTN-Specific Security: Understanding of security challenges in long-delay environments (e.g. impacts on authentication timers).
- Protocol Security: Hands-on experience securing NAS, NGAP, and XnAP interfaces using IPsec or DTLS.
- Key distribution: Knowledge of robust key hierarchy and distribution mechanisms from the Core to the gNB and UE.
- Assessment and certifications: Knowledge about threat modeling, risk assessments, and certifications.
- Networking: Proficiency in networking and transport layer protocols. Specifically, 5G network stack.
